Train to Gain
Train to Gain - the offer
Train to Gain is a national initiative to deliver support and funding for employees in gaining a first level 2 or 3 qualification. Your Adviser will discuss the options that are available to your business and provide a choice of relevant quality training provision best suited to your requirements.
Train to Gain funding criteria is based on an individual employee’s eligibility:
First NVQ level 2
For employees 19+ who have no prior qualifications equivalent to 5 GCSE’s A*-C
First NVQ level 3
For employees 19+ who have no prior qualifications equivalent to 5 GCSE’s A*-C and have the relevant experience and skills or are operating at supervisory level.
Second level 2 & 3 support
For employees who are already qualified to level 2 and wish to undertake a second level 2 in a different discipline or progression to level 3, there maybe funding available through the Train to Gain offer (more information available from your business adviser).
Contribution to Wage Costs
Additional support is also available for small businesses (with less than 50 employees) for when employees are spending time away from their work to undertake either a first level 2 qualification, basic skills training and in some cases a first level 3 qualification.
As an employer, you can claim back for the working hours undertaken for training to a maximum of 70 hours and you can choose either £5 per hour or the actual hourly net rate for the employee.
